What Funding Circle's own site says about the US
Funding Circle's US page says it agreed in March 2024 to sell its US business and that it no longer operates in the United States.
On its US landing page (checked October 2026), Funding Circle states that in March 2024 it agreed to sell its US business to iBusiness Funding, and that "Funding Circle no longer operates in the United States." The page points visitors to its UK site, where the company still operates.
The page also mentions UK products, a payment account and a business credit card, which are provided under UK regulation. None of that applies to a US business owner. The page does not list US loan amounts, credit requirements or timing, so we will not state any here.
The practical lesson: older articles, comparison tables and reviews that describe Funding Circle's US loans are out of date. Anything you read about its US rates or terms should be treated as history, not as an offer you can still take.
How to replace a lender that left the market
Start by defining the job the money does, then compare at least two structures on total cost and payback before choosing.
People who searched for Funding Circle were usually after a term loan with a defined payment schedule. You can still get that. The harder part is picking the right replacement, because lenders differ a lot in who they serve.
- Write down the use. Equipment, inventory, a second location, a payroll gap and a marketing push each point to a different product.
- Set your payment ceiling. Use the monthly revenue that is reliably there, not your best month. Our guide to how much revenue can go to loan payments shows the math.
- Ask for the true cost. Total repayment, payback period and a monthly-equivalent payment. Convert daily or weekly payments so offers line up.
- Check the speed you truly need. Same-day money and a 5-day timeline cost different amounts.
What ROI Funder offers a US business
ROI Funder matches one application to funders in our network for $5,000 to $5,000,000, with 500+ FICO considered and 6+ months in business.
You apply online in a few minutes with a soft credit pull, which does not affect your credit score, and you have no obligation to accept an offer. The guidelines are 500+ FICO considered, 6+ months in business and $20,000 or more in monthly revenue. We cover all 50 states.
Products we place:
- Term loans with fixed payments, usually 1 to 5 days to fund.
- Business lines of credit you draw, repay and redraw, typically 24 to 72 hours.
- Working capital and revenue-based financing, where repayment follows sales.
- Equipment financing in 2 to 7 days and SBA loans, which are slower and generally the lowest cost.
Money can reach your account the same business day on an approved, complete file. A complete file is the application plus 3 months of business bank statements.
A quick example: replacing a fixed-payment loan
If you wanted a fixed-payment loan for a build-out, compare a term loan against revenue-based financing using the same total repayment and period.
Here is an illustrative example. A café owner wants $80,000 for a patio and kitchen upgrade expected to add $6,000 a month in gross profit. She asks for two structures.
Offer A is a term loan with a fixed monthly payment of $4,000 over 24 months. Offer B is revenue-based financing where about 8% of sales is withheld until a set total is repaid. In a slow winter month, B takes less cash. In a strong summer, B pays off faster and the monthly equivalent rises.
The point is not which is better in theory. It is which one her cash flow can carry in the worst month she expects. That test is exactly what our payment stress test walks through. Numbers here are illustrative only.
Why old reviews can mislead you
Reviews written before a lender left the market describe offers you can no longer get.
Comparison pages age badly. A table written when a lender was active in the US may still rank high in search years later, with amounts, rates and approval claims that no longer apply. The only reliable check is the company's own current page, which is why we link to it above and note when we checked.
Use that habit with every lender you research, including us. Look for a date on the page. Look for the legal lender's name in the fine print. Look for a clear statement of which states and which business types are served. If you cannot find those, ask before you apply.
Also be careful with reviews that quote star ratings or customer stories. They tell you how someone felt on one day, not what an offer will cost you. Two documents carry more weight: the written offer and the agreement. Read both, line by line, and compare total repayment before you decide.
When a UK-based lender is still the right call, and when it is not
Funding Circle's UK site may serve UK businesses. A US-registered business needs a US-operating funder.
Funding Circle continues to operate in the UK, per its site. If your business is registered and operating in the UK, that is the market it serves. We make no claims about its UK products.
ROI Funder is for US businesses. We are not the better fit in these cases:
- Your business is under 6 months old.
- Monthly revenue is well under $20,000.
- You need a commercial real estate mortgage, a business credit card or invoice factoring. We do not place those, though our guides explain each one honestly.
If you are close to the line, apply anyway. A soft pull costs nothing, and the answer tells you where you stand.
